We originally developed this website for a graduate class, Critical Pedagogies, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania to offer information about the Pell Grant program for prisoners that had recently been conditionally reinstated through the Second Chance Pell Pilot Program during the Obama administration. As we continued our research and volunteer work in the prison system, we have come to understand that higher education is just a part of the rehabilitative process. We expanded our website to include information about sentencing reform and the prison system as a whole, as well as additional education information, links to scholarly and journalistic writing on the subject of prison education and literacy, and other information regarding the prison system.
